In Greek mythology, a phoenix is a long-lived bird that is cyclically regenerated or reborn.
Associated with the Sun, a phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor.
Here is a live depiction of a woman who, at 29 years old, got diagnosed with stage II breast cancer. The moment was captured right after she had finished her last radiation treatment and had finished healing from her bilateral mastectomy. This painting is an open and proud statement of inner consciousness transcending the flesh through an epiphany of finding new personal strength after a hard-fought victory. Her stoic contrapposto boldly celebrates her scars as a triumph. The highly angled composition of the environment simultaneously works to imbue her presence and direct complete attention to the figure while the stained-glass window that halos her head reflects her newfound glory.
Painting is custom framed and ready to hang with wire hanging kit.
